Ever wonder why positive posts take time to gather reactions while those that pinch a nerve or those based on anger and rants fill up the page fast in a matter of minutes?
Ideas come in many forms. Feelings are one of the best sources of ideas to write about - the strongest being love and hate.
In many online social circles and even writing platforms, posts that encourage heated arguments are common scenarios. There seems to be a constant urge to argue, not to mention to troll on threads. Human nature, in the quest for survival, brings out the instinct to compete, in the intellectual arena - to prove one's point.
When the ego monster takes over, an interesting arena is set. There will always be three types of characters in this scenario. The fighters, the referee, and the audience. I would more often be part of the audience (complete with popcorn and soda).
Looking at it from the other side of the spectrum, there is something positive about all these. We learn to analyze, think critically, and learn a lot from the experience (though ridiculous some arguments may seem to a few). In the platform of thinkers, the arena can be brutal at times, where words can slice up the enemy into unrecognizable bits. But if we can sift through the remarks, we can find some gems.
